The current owners bought it because they were enchanted with it as well, but they get so many drive-bys and photo seekers now (and probably more than their fair share of inconsiderate visitors) that it may have lost some of its charm for them-and their neighbors! But their website () has more information and explains their photo policy: quick shots and selfies are fine, but commercial and professional shoots, engagement photos, photos on the property, etc., need prior authorization and entail a fee for the time it costs them to accommodate such visits. Numerous newspaper articles and TVnews shows featured the house during and after the 2011 Utah Parade of Homes, when it was open to tour.

We first saw this house right after it was built and like many other people, stopped to take a few photos because it really does look almost exactly like the movie house-by design, built by Blair Bangerter. PHOTO TIP: Make sure you stand in front of the gate to block out the large sign stating the photo policy that is tacked onto the gate as it will become very visible in your pictures, unless you have good photoshopping skills. But at the end of the day it's someone's home and for me it felt like I was intruding. It does look like it belongs in a Disney theme park, and that's a compliment to how they have maintained this house. If you're a Pixar/Up fan, looking at this house will delight you. I sent an email to the owner of the house when I found out about it last-minute and did not receive a response in time for our departure from Salt Lake City, so we opted to quietly take a couple of pictures on the sidewalk (which was allowed per owner's policy) and did not loiter.

The current owner now requests a scheduled photo shoot and fee for anyone that wants to dress up or go for a tour (dressing up includes bringing balloons as per owner's website). The UP house is certainly charming and well-kept, but one thing to note is that this is in a residential neighborhood and serves as someone's home.
